Shooting on MuckShooting on MuckIsle of MuckIsle of MuckIsle of Muck

We provide a totally unique sporting adventure for our guests who shoot with us here on Muck. From the moment you leave the mainland and step onto the passenger ferry you can expect to be among some of the most breathtaking scenery anywhere in Scotland. If you are lucky you will see dolphins, whales or sharks on your trip across the water. We will meet you at the pier on the island where your adventure really does begin. We aim to provide, above all else, a fun couple of days with varied sport, luxury accommodation and delicious seasonal  home cooked food. The shoot covers every part of the island and guests will enjoy challenging and sporting shooting with a great mix of species.

Driven Shooting

TobyOur small family run shoot, set up in 2006, has gone from strength to strength and we now offer around 20 packages a season. By planting game crops alongside the new and existing plantations and by using the island's natural topography of deep gullies and heather banks we can show mixed drives of pheasants and partridges. Ponds have also been created on the hill ground to show high ducks. Later in the season, guns can expect to see snipe and woodcock in abundance.

A typical 'driven' package consists of the following;

• Day one - Arrive in Arisaig and meet your private charter boat for your journey out to Muck. Arrive around lunchtime and settle into Gallanach Lodge. After lunch, wild goose chase/walked-up snipe/woodcock or mini mixed drives depending on the time of year and what we have on the ground.

• Day two – Fully driven day with a good mix of species including, pheasant, red-legged partridge, English Partridge, duck, geese, snipe, woodcock & pigeon. Lunch is provided in the middle of the day by Jenny at the Craft Shop & restaurant and we usually shoot between 4-5 drives a day, depending on the bag.

• Day three - Late breakfast and departure back to Arisaig.

Our drives cover most of the island 1600 acres and the sea is our boundary. The scenery makes for a magnificent backdrop in which to shoot in. We offer a unique experience with exciting shooting coupled with first class hospitality.

Availability is very limited but please call either Toby or Mary to discuss your requirements. Most of our packages are taken by returning clients, but occasionally, due to cancellations, packages do become available.

Walked-up Shooting

Shooting at Gallanach LodgeOccasionlly, we offer small walked up days for snipe & woodcock with perhaps a duck and goose flight in the evenings and mornings. These days are great fun and will take you to the extreams of the Island in search of your quary. Bags tend not to be large but the sprt on offer is first class and very excititng.

As part of the package we offer full board accommodation in our Lodge.
